Zita Swoon - Ragdoll Blues (I Paint Pictures on a Wedding Dress)
In 1999 I saw Zita Swoon playing at the student festival Queima das Fitas, in Coimbra, Portugal. It was an incredible gig. A parafernalia of instruments on stage, weird customs, Carlens dressed as a woman, dancing and jumping, one of the guitarists as a cowboy, the double bass player had a funny moustache, electric guitars in a duel, two amazing covers (Money, Money by Abbba; and You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Stones), and an audience that quickly surrendered to the exquisite unknown group from Belgium. Well, they were not really unknown, Carlens had left dEUS to form Moondong Jr. and then Zita Swoon. My room mate bought the album I Paint Pictures on a Wedding Dress and I guess it was playing all the time around the flat.
