dEUS – Suds & Soda (Worst Case Scenario)

This is the opening song of Worst Case Scenario (if we count Intro as an intro) by the Belgium dEUS. What a blast! A violin that stings, vocals as distorted as guitars, “Friday” raging in repetitive hypnotic bites, a sense of melody juxtaposed with noise. dEUS were the cool band of the 90s. Jazzy, Beefheartesque, and exquisitely electric. Stef Kamil Carlens, Tom Barman and Roudy Trouve in the same band, a sparkling line-up that, unfortunately didn't last long. It’s probably their best album, although In a Bar, Under the Sea is a great sequel. These two with the EP My Sister = My Clock are dEUS at their core.
