John Cale & Lou Reed - Open House (Songs For Drella)

It's a Czechoslovakian custom my mother passed on to me / The way to make friends Andy is invite them up for tea”. We don’t make many friends by inviting them for tea and we’re not Czechoslovakian. Yet we would invite friends to listen to this great album, Songs For Drella, written for Andy Warhol when Lou and John seemed to be friends. Most songs sound unfinished (and that’s the good quality of it) and Lou’s guitar is sometimes intrusive in the soundscape created by John Cale. It’s Lou and there’s nothing you can do about it. Is there anyone out there as good as him delivering a combination of spoken word and perfect lyrics?
