Neil Young – Guitar Solo, n. 5 (Dead Man)

One of my favourite directors, Jim Jarmusch, have decided to invite the charismatic Neil Young to compose the soundtrack for his movie Dead Man. Young then decided to record the soundtrack “by improvising (mostly on his electric guitar, with some acoustic guitar, piano and organ) as he watched the newly edited film alone in a recording studio”. The result is quite deep. There are erupting noises here and there, and although the compositions are mostly improvised, Young keeps his sense of melody acute and creates an organic piece that seems to come from inside the film.
